I'm in the train (soon in the train station, waiting another train), and I thought I could update a little bit my portfolio which I completely forgot during the summer break. Time to come back to work (not very unpleasant work though).
Something important but I should say nonetheless, is that I won't talk about everything I do in English; Why ? Even if i could find the time (which isn't easy) there are also deeply personal things that i do using English. I talk about my private life in English to some other people (or even I record my thoughts in English). And sorry, I won't disclose them heedlessly to anybody.
This summer, I went to a Buddhist retreat near Montpellier (more exactly at Lerab Ling, Roqueredonde nearer to Lodeve in Herault). At this place we use a lot English. Every day there was teachings, and I chose (like the previous years) not to have a translation headset. This way I listen in English (I prefer) and I also take my notes in English. Then, there is also a great number of books related to the topic that are also in English.
Of course I go there with my parents, so between each other we still speak in French. And there is also a great number of French speaking people, and whenever we are grouped according to our country, we also have to speak in French. The last thing is that because the speakers are usually not native English speakers (Tibetan people in fact) they don't speak a very complicated English either. Anyway, that's still a great opportunity to use English.
